A 15th-century fortress
Rambures Castle, the first “brick and stone” castle in France, remains one of Hauts-de-France’s most iconic castles. Its construction consists of 8 round towers, giving it an unusual and original appearance.
Discover this structure and its enormous towers, featuring machicolation and round parapet walks. When you walk through the fully-furnished rooms of this fortress, you’re walking through 700 years of history!
A romantic park and a medieval-inspired rose garden
Rambures Castle park is a protected historic monument and a romantic, 15-hectare environment that has been labelled a Noteworthy Garden. This English landscape garden is home to very beautiful and rare trees, as well as a conservatory orchard containing ancient varieties of apple trees.
The rose garden offers a real maze of smells and colours, blooming in an enclosed 3200 m2 area. You can find over 500 varieties of ancient and modern roses, in bloom from June to Autumn.
Lœuilly water sports centre
Around fifteen kilometres south of Amiens, the Lœuilly water sports centre adjoins the rivercourse of the Selle and an enclosed body of water. Here, you can practice canoeing and kayaking, as well as paddling and paddle-boating.
Descend the Selle in a canoe
From the Lœuilly water sports centre, enjoy a canoe descent of the untamed Selle river. A 3 km course through a lush green natural environment will take you on a journey where you’ll meet animals, in a setting surrounded by water wheels. Allow for between an hour and an hour and a half for this descent, which is accessible to all.
Ride a paddle boat on the enclosed body of water
The Lœuilly water sports centre has a number of nautical activities on offer for both beginners and sporty types on the Ô-de-Selle body of water. Available for rent between half an hour to an hour, paddle boats are the perfect way to navigate the water as a family. The younger ones can try the hand-powered paddle boats and sail through the water all on their own.
Stand Up Paddle on the enclosed body of water
This is a perfect place to learn about, and learn how to use, this method of navigating the water.
It’s a new sliding and balancing sensation that you can try with your friends or family.
A stroll through nature near Amiens

The Coulée Verte
The Coulée Verte follows the bottom of the Selle Valley and traverses 8 of the Somme’s communes, from Bacouël-sur-Selle to Monsures, over a distance of 17 km.
