About
After creating Dunsinane, Amiens-based Fred Egginton continues his collaboration with Scottish author David Greig with Lune jaune, a poignant road trip about two teenagers on the run.
A fan of demanding, popular theater, Amiens-based actor and director Fred Egginton appreciates the breadth, commitment and vitality of David Greig?s writing. The plays of this award-winning Scottish playwright, renowned throughout the English-speaking world, link the intimate and the political in a powerful way, shedding light on the lives of fragile, troubled characters. After directing the vast fresco Dunsinane (2019), Fred Egginton changes registers with Lune jaune, a road trip that takes two young people on a desperate flight that will bring them closer together. She, Leïla, has escaped the war in Syria with her family. She can no longer speak, scarifies herself and drifts off into cheap dreams. He, Lee, abandoned by his father at the age of four, lives with his mother and stepfather, and plunges into delinquency.
A tragedy sends them on the run in search of Lee?s father, all the way to the lost forests of the Scottish Highlands. Plagued by the inability to speak, the tragedy is rooted in a social determinism born of ruthless brutality, reminiscent of the world of Ken Loach.
Live music accompanies the wanderings of the two teenagers. A powerfully evocative quest for self, for audiences aged 13 and up.
