Between Villers-sous-Ailly and Bouchon, there is a steep slope with alternating arid and wooded areas, illustrating the natural evolution of the hillsides.
Like most of the slopes of the Somme valley, the Bouchon plateau was used for a long time as a grazing area by shepherds. The abandonment of this practice had left place to the undergrowth. The clearing of the brush was done not only by volunteers but also thanks to the appetite of goats.
As the seasons go by, discover along the path the pulsatile anemones in flower, the yellow flowers of the Helianthemums or the wild orchids. Follow the flight of the frail blue Argus or the Machaon, the largest butterfly in the region.
Be careful!
