In the heart of the Middle Somme Valley, the Marais de Picquigny is located between the communes of Ailly-sur-Somme, Saint-Sauveur, La Chaussée-Tirancourt and Picquigny.
The site is part of a functional network of alkaline peat bogs. Like the other surrounding marshes, centuries of exploitation of its raw materials (peat extraction, grazing, reed mowing, etc.) has shaped its landscape and given it its ecological characteristics.
This marsh is home to a wide variety of environments, animal and plant species that are often rare and endangered.
