THÉÂTRE : Bérénice

Titus, the future emperor of Rome, and Berenice, queen of Palestine, love each other absolutely. She has crossed the seas and given up everything for him. He has promised her the empire, transgressing the Roman laws that condemn their union. But at the moment of the coronation, Titus falters, sinks into tears and silence, and chooses separation. Around them, Antiochus, an old friend and faithful warrior, suffers from a secret love. Drawing on the power of Racine?s alexandrine, Jean-René Lemoine renders the sensuality, vertigo and tragedy of passions pushed to the extreme of deception.

We are delighted and proud to present this new show, created at the Maison de la Culture (in rehearsal when the theater seems closed). We invite a small number of you to slip into the mysteries of the creative process by attending a work session on Wednesday December 18 at 7pm.

Producing shows is an integral part of the missions of the Scènes nationales. The MCA produces and orchestrates the touring of Bérénice in France and abroad.
