Théâtre : Sur l’autre rive

When he was last at La Maison, he shocked us with Festen, his adaptation of the cult film into a play. This time around, Cyril Teste tackles a free adaptation of Anton Chekhov?s Platonov with the surprising crossovers he proposes between theater and cinema, as inventive and masterful as ever.
Filial love, regrets, a father?s heavy heritage, thoughts to be suffocated as quickly as possible in an ocean of oblivion? all swept up in an excessive party, drowned in alcohol, desires and exuberance: this is the Platonov that Cyril Teste brings to life, as close as possible to bodies, energies and emotions. The thirteen stunning actors give their all, aided by the narrative power of the cameras and the music played on stage.
