About
CONCERT PROGRAM
Franz Schubert 6 German Dances - orchestration by A.Webern
Lisa Streich NEROLI - Violin concerto
Robert Schumann Rhenish Symphony No. 3
Never before has the Rhine and its legendary shores been sung with such élan, emotion and poetry, or with such sombre grandeur, if we think of the majestic accents of the 4th movement evoking Cologne Cathedral... The Rhenish Symphony (1850), the concert?s flagship work, will be introduced by Schubert?s six delightful German Dances, transcribed for small orchestra by Anton Webern in 1932.
Another attraction of this program is the French premiere of the "Neroli" concerto by Swedish composer Lisa Streich. Dedicated to violinist Carolin Widmann, the work refers to the essential oil of Neroli, with its orange blossom fragrance. According to Lisa Streich, this concerto can be compared to a veritable "bath" of sounds and fragrances.
And, for the record, Neroli is also Carolin Widmann?s favorite perfume?
Conductor: Johanna Malangré
Violin: Carolin Widmann
