The Somme of prehistories, a territory, our history.
On a journey spanning 670,000 years from prehistory to the present day, we discover that not only was the discipline born in the Somme, but that this region is still today a reference point for anyone wishing to understand prehistoric man. The exhibition will showcase the most recent archaeological discoveries, in particular the exceptional collection of statuettes from Amiens-Renancourt.
Finally, by highlighting the questions posed by scientists, the exhibition will invite us all to re-examine our own preconceptions about this period. What if prehistory was all about us? The Maison de Jules Verne is offering a continuation of this theme, focusing on Jacques Boucher de Perthes.
