Perched at the top of the Somme Valley, between Le Hamel and Cerisy, the saffron farm overlooks one of the most beautiful landscapes of the department. On 2000m2 grow the bulbs of this spice also called red gold. After its plantation in August 2020, this very young saffron plantation will develop over several years to produce its precious flowers with blood red pistil, over a period of about one month. Several tens of thousands of flowers will be harvested by hand.
Next to the saffron roads, a flowery fallow has been set up to feed the surrounding bees and thus contribute to the conservation of our Picardy biodiversity.
