About
Conductor Jean-Claude Casadesus | Violinist Bohdan Luts
Montreal, Baltimore, Seoul, Sao Paulo, Buenos Aires, Philadelphia, Monte Carlo, Saint Petersburg and Berlin? Jean-Claude Casadesus has conducted the most prestigious orchestras on major international stages. For this exceptional evening, the emblematic conductor returns to the Orchestre National de Lille, of which he remains Founding Conductor and which he has led for over 40 years.
Jean-Claude Casadesus takes us to the very roots of classical music. In 1775, Mozart was working at the Salzburg court, producing a magnificent series of violin concertos. The very young Ukrainian violinist Bohdan Luts will be the spokesman for this masterpiece of irresistible melodies. If Rameau's Sextet Concerts are the absolute pinnacle of Baroque music, Schubert's Symphony No.5 is the pinnacle of classical music.
An evening dedicated to music as an indestructible link between generations.
