The exhibition-workshop Jardiner la ville will be held in Amiens from Saturday June 1 to Sunday September 22. Conceived, produced and initially presented at the Cité de l?architecture et du patrimoine in Paris, this exhibition invites young visitors to explore the ecological future of cities.
Designed around a large, manipulable model of an urban landscape transformed by nature, the exhibition offers a glimpse into the efforts and ingenuity of local residents to make the city more "habitable": shared gardens, green facades, rooftop gardens, urban farms, development of wasteland, and so on.
A material library of stones, earth and vegetation allows visitors to discover, see and touch natural materials used in architecture and urban planning
used in architecture and urban planning. It symbolizes the resource centre from which budding architects can draw during the workshop to create their ideal city.
Poetic and playful, the exhibition appeals to the imagination while realistically anticipating the future of cities transformed by plants.
