Cité Médiévale de Lucheux
This pretty little town north of Doullens, with its belfry, its medieval castle and its Romanesque church, is a true testimony of a Picardy village in the Middle Ages.
7 kms north of Doullens, the medieval town of Lucheux remains the only commune in Picardy to preserve the 3 monuments symbolising the French society of the Ancien Régime: the fortified castle built between the 12th and 14th centuries, the Romanesque church with historiated capitals and the 14th century belfry-porch, recognised by UNESCO in 2005.
The castle is private and closed to the public.
