Belvédère de l'Anguillère
Panoramic view , panorama
The anguillère d'Eclusier-Vaux has been restored. It is now used for the scientific monitoring of this fish which travels a long way to come to the ponds of the Haute Somme.
In the ponds along the Somme River lives a fish with a very peculiar way of life: the eel. It travels a long way before settling here. For many years, the fishermen of the Somme caught eels to sell them. Today this fishing is strongly regulated. The eel-hole of Eclusier-Vaux was restored in memory of this practice but also to ensure a scientific follow-up of the species by capturing the eels "in the old way"!
